Special places Like Greendale require community caretakers - those of us who appreciate the region's history, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and/or have friends and loved ones buried within the grounds.  Greendale is a nonprofit organization and as such is not subsidized by tax or church revenues.  Part of our mission is to provide lots at an affordable price.  Therefore, while burial fees cover many of the costs associated with keeping Greenale in good order, they do not cover everything.  We do have a small endowment, as state law mandates that a portion price of each lot be reserved to provide future care, but it was started at a time when lots cost $4.00 - not a lot of money by today's standards!  So we must rely upon the community to maintain this treasure.
